Sector

Sector is our newsletter about industrial growth in the region, and about departures too. What is being built, what is opening and hiring, and what is leaving or closing, in one place.

What it covers

Growth	Departures
New projects and new companies.	Closures and plant shutdowns.
Hiring and expansions.	Moves out of the region.
Investment and new capacity.	Cutbacks and layoffs.

Both belong in the picture. A region that only counts what it gains cannot see what it is losing.

How we cover it

Sourced and dated. We say where something comes from and when.
What the record says. We report what sources say, and keep our own reading separate from it.
Corrections in the open. If we get something wrong, we say so.

These are the same habits behind HeavyMap, our industrial atlas.

Who it is for

Anyone who wants to follow the region’s industry: owners and workers, suppliers, investors, planners, and the curious. Have news of your own? Post it in the News section of the Board.
